Metallographic Atlas as a Teaching Resource in the Learning Process of Microstructures of Alloys of Technological Interest
There are numerous books where the fundamentals aspects of Materials Science & Engineering are described. However, their contents cannot be used as a quick guide for learning and interpreting microstructures of metallic alloys. An alternative tool is the use of a metallographic atlas such as the one presented here.
The materials here included have been carefully selected not only for their educational usefulness, but also with the aim to represent the most common technological materials. Each material is presented individually (composition, processing, surface preparation) together with a brief description of the macro- and microstructure. Phase diagrams are also included in order to facilitate the identification of the predominant phases.
This resource is designed for students, teachers, engineers, technicians and anyone interested in METALLOGRAPHY.
