La Tour Eiffel
The Industrial Revolution enabled constructions of an unimaginable height until then, thanks to the use of iron. A prototype of this new architecture is this tower built for the Universal Exhibition of 1889 by Gustave Eiffel, whose works include the bridge over the Douro in Porto, the mobile dome of the Nice Astronomical Observatory and the internal frame of the Statue of Liberty in New York.
