NO ESTABA LEJOS, NO ERA DIFÍCIL

 

Ha llegado este tiempo

cuando ya no hace daño la vida que se pierde,

cuando ya la lujuria es tan sólo

una lámpara inútil, y la envidia se olvida.

Es un tiempo de pérdidas prudentes, necesarias,

y no es un tiempo de llegar

sino de irse. El amor, ahora,

por fin coincide con la inteligencia.

No estaba lejos,

no era difícil. Es un tiempo

que no me deja más que el horizonte

como medida de la soledad.

Un tiempo de tristeza protectora.
