How to access
General requirements

You need to hold the official Spanish title of Bachelor, or equivalent, and the University Master's degree or equivalent, having passed at least 300 ECTS credits summing up both studies or titles.

Official Spanish university degree or equivalent Spanish degree provided that they have passed at least 300 ECTS credits in the whole of these teachings and accredit a level 3 of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education.

A degree obtained in accordance with foreign education systems belonging to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), without the need for homologation, which accredits a level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework, provided that this degree entitles access to doctoral studies in the country in which it was issued. This admission will not imply, under any circumstances, the homologation of the previous qualification held by the interested party nor its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral studies.
- A
degree obtained in accordance with foreign education systems outside the EHEA, without the need for official recognition, after verification by the university that it accredits a level of training equivalent to that of the official Spanish university Master's degree and that it entitles the holder to access doctoral studies in the country in which the degree was awarded. The favourable resolution will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party nor its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral studies. This procedure is not necessary if you can prove that you hold an Official University Master's Degree obtained at any Spanish university, or at any university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) after 2007. In this case, you must also provide the degree that gave you access to the Master's degree and its official and legalised sworn translation, if applicable.

University graduates who have obtained a place in training in the corresponding entrance exam for specialised health training places and have passed with a positive evaluation at least two years of training in a programme for obtaining the official degree in one of the specialities in Health Sciences (MIR, FIR, PIR, etc.).

A
nother Spanish Doctorate or Doctorate degree, or a foreign Doctorate or Doctorate degree that has been recognised as equivalent to a higher qualification by the competent Spanish. - Diploma of Advanced Studies obtained in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 778/1998, of 30 April, or have achieved the “research sufficiency” regulated by Royal Decree 185/1985, of 23 January.
- An official university degree that has obtained the correspondence to level 3 of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education, in accordance with the procedure established in Royal Decree 889/2022, of October 18, which establishes the requirements and procedure for the homologation and declaration of equivalence to an official university degree and academic level and for the validation of foreign higher education studies, and the procedure to determine the correspondence to the levels of the Spanish Framework of Qualifications for Higher Education of the official degrees of Architect, Engineer, Graduate, Technical Architect, Technical Engineer and Diploma.
- To be studying, during the 2022-2023 academic year, an official Spanish university degree that entitles to access a PhD program and to be in a position to accredit it before starting the course.
- Official university degree that has obtained the correspondence to level 3 of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education.

Specific requirements
PhD programmes may establish specific requirements for admission. You can consult them by accessing the website of the program itself. In the list of programs on the EDUCM website, you can select the requested program and access their own website
Some programs include the requirement to pass training subjects, which will be determined by the Academic Committee of the programme, according to the student's access profile.
