PhD Programs
All candidates
• DNI (National Identification Document), NIE (Foreigner Identification Number) or passport, provisionally.
• Curriculum vitae detailing academic and professional training.
• If the admission is requested part-time, documentation justifying the request.
• Other documents required for admission to the selected programs. (Consult the program's web page on the School's web site).
Candidates with Spanish qualifications
- Qualifications that grant access to PhD studies or provisional certification or European Supplement to the Degree, or proof of having paid the fees for its issue, or, if applicable, proof of having taken an official Spanish university degree during the 2022-2023 academic year that grant you to access to PhD studies and to be in a position to accredit it before starting the doctoral course, as established in the call for applications.
- Academic certification of the studies carried out that accredits the duration of the studies, the subjects passed and the qualifications obtained.
Students with UCM degrees can submit the academic reports available on the academic management website GEA-UCMnet (Datos académicos > Mi expediente > Descargar certificado).
Candidates with degrees from another EHEA state:
- Qualifications that grant access to PhD studies or provisional certification or European Diploma Supplement, or proof of having paid the fees for its issue, or, where applicable, proof of being studying during the academic year 2023-24, an official university degree from another EHEA member state, which accredits a level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework and which qualifies for access to a doctorate, and being in a position to accredit it before the start of the doctoral academic year, as established in the call for applications.
- Academic certification of the studies carried out that accredits the duration of the studies, the subjects passed and the qualifications obtained.
- Academic certification of the studies carried out, issued by the competent body, which certifies that the degree gives access to PhD studies in the country of origin, the duration of the studies, the subjects passed and the qualifications obtained, in the event that this circumstance is not accredited in other official academic documentation presented.
Official documents that have not been issued in Spanish must be accompanied by an official translation.
The documentation must be legalized when the documentation has been issued by a non-Spanish organization and belongs to a country not included in the European Union or signatories of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Candidates with foreign qualifications
- Qualifications that grant access to PhD studies.
- Resolution of the homologation or declaration of equivalence to degree and academic level granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport or resolution of the application for the permit to access the PhD Program granted by the UCM. If the aforementioned resolution is not yet available, an application receipt will be presented sealed by the Validations Department.
- Academic certification of the studies carried out, issued by the competent body, which certifies that the degree grants access to PhD studies in the country of origin, the duration of the studies, the subjects completed and the qualifications obtained.
- Proof of having applied for permission to access doctoral studies at UCM regulated by RD 99/2011, January 28, referred to in sections 2.6 and 4.3 of the call for admission 2023-24 in the case of not having homologation or declaration of equivalence referred to in the previous section.
Official documents that have not been issued in Spanish must be accompanied by an official translation.
The documentation must be legalized in the diplomatic representations or consular offices of Spain abroad, when the documentation has been issued by a non-Spanish organization.
All candidates with previus studies completed in foreign educational centers
- Declaration of Equivalence of the Average Grade of university academic records, which can be obtained from competent Spanish Ministry, in the link below, and which allows obtaining the average grade equivalent to that awarded in Spanish educational centers. The applicant must upload to the UCM online application form, the document in "pdf " that is generated at the end of the process of the previous web link. Candidates in official training in Health Sciences specialties
- A certificate issued by the hospital management certifying the positive evaluation of at least 2 years of training.
Other situations
- Students with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% must present a certificate of degree of disability issued by IMSERSO or the corresponding Autonomous Community.
