Improvements implemented
One of the objectives of the MTRAVLOC Quality Committee is to propose specific teaching and management improvements for this Master’s degree. In collaboration with the Master's Coordination Committee, some of the improvements implemented from the 2022-2023 academic year are as follows:
-
Implementation of changes to the MTRAVLOC website.
-
Improvement of the document covering the procedure and guidelines for the preparation and presentation of the Final Master’s Thesis.
-
Enhancement of the visibility of the Final Master’s Theses.
-
Creation of a MTRAVLOC Coordination and Teaching Staff Area on the Complutense University of Madrid’s Virtual Campus, thereby diversifying the channels of communication and dissemination of information between the Coordination and the lecturers who teach on the master's degree.
-
Diversification and intensification of the dissemination of information about the MTRAVLOC in the different pre-registration periods: preparation and dissemination of posters and information leaflets, both printed and in digital format; organisation of informative meetings prior to enrolment periods, aimed primarily at students from the Faculty of Philology, etc.
- Creation of a MTRAVLOC conference room on the Autonomous University of Madrid’s Virtual Campus, which will allow other students (master’s graduates, doctoral students, undergraduate students, interested teaching staff) to stream certain seminars and conferences organised by the degree programme. At the same time, a YouTube channel will be developed, which will support teaching.
-
Periodic informative talks on lines of research by lecturers who will be teaching in the second semester to provide students with a wide range of possibilities for their own research and Final Master’s Thesis. Seminars on the focus of the FMT have been held in all editions of the master’s degree.
- Organisation of a “Welcome Day” with the participation of former MTRAVLOC students
-
An MTRAVLOC LinkedIn page and alumni group have been set up. Students will be able to add the master’s degree as an entity in its own right in the training section. We will post job offers and contents of interest in Audiovisual Translation and Localisation in the group. In addition, we hope that the group will serve as a forum for sharing experiences and information with students from different graduating cohorts.

-
Establishment of regular meetings between the coordinators of the two campuses and the students to check that the syllabus is going well and to exchange opinions with the students. Four meetings will be held, one at the beginning and end of each semester, in addition to the individual tutorials that the coordinators hold with any students who request them.
- Establishment of a communication channel on social media to disseminate relevant external events related to the subjects of the master’s degree that may be of interest to students.
- Bringing forward the management of internships to offer enough places for students; in this way, they will be able to complete the required hours of this subject within the dates established for the ordinary call.
-
Maintenance of our own YouTube channel to serve as a repository for the lectures, seminars and workshops given in the 2021/2022 academic year for consultation and review of subjects by students of the master’s degree.
- Updating of the MTRAVLOC brochure (academic year 2023-2024).
