WHY STUDY THIS MASTER’S DEGREE?

The main objective of the master’s degree is to facilitate professional insertion in the different related profiles:

  • Audiovisual translation in its different modalities: subtitling, dubbing, voice-over, overtitling in live shows (opera, theatre), accessibility for people with functional diversity (subtitling for deaf people and audio description for blind people).
  • Multimedia content processing.
  • Localisation.
  • Evaluation and design of applications. Technical verification (tester and beta-tester).
  • Project management of translation, localisation and other value-added services.
  • Quality assurance: evaluation and revision of translations, post-editing.
  • Strategic production and quality processes: contracting, client management, vendor management, etc.
  • Freelance or in-house translator.
  • Language services and consultancy, multilingual documentation for the audiovisual industry, publishing and institutions.
  • Editing and processing of formats and documents. Professional publishing (DTP, graphic design).
  • University teaching and research in translation and technologies.

 

TARGET PUBLIC

  1. Graduates in translation and interpreting, as well as graduates from the system prior to the implementation of European Convergence.
  2. Graduates in other specialisations such as modern languages, English studies, computer engineering, language technologies.
  3. Graduates in any other specialisation, whose professional curriculum demonstrates a practical and theoretical capacity to follow the proposed studies.

 

Graduates in options 2 and 3 must accredit a knowledge of Spanish and English (at least CEFR level C1) and must take up to 12 ECTS credits in additional training courses.
