The consortium visits one main stakeholder of the Leuven Living Lab the Leuven Materials Bank. Materialenbank Leuven, part of Atelier Circuler vzw, is committed to the reuse of building materials. Together with various partners and the social employment organization “Wonen en Werken”, they give valuable materials a new life. Their portfolio includes a wide range of recovered wood and stone fractions. They offer construction wood, sheet materials, tropical and rustic wood, as well as local wood from trees that had to be cut down in the region around Leuven. In addition, they also reuse both artificial and natural stone. Their mission is to make the construction sector more sustainable and contribute to a circular economy.
