RE-CREATION
AN ART JOURNEY INTO THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY by Olga Kisseleva
RE-CREATION exhibition series is the contemporary art strand of CirCoCréation. Working with researchers from KU Leuven (Belgium), Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and Mittuniversitetet (Sweden), France-based international artist Olga Kisseleva is exploring ways in which citizens can engage in circular urban initiatives.
RE-CREATION begins with a simple but powerful idea: what if art could turn waste into resources, discarded objects into masterpieces? In a world where environmental urgency demands new ways of consuming and producing, the interdisciplinary team from Belgium, France, Spain and Sweden is coming together around a bold project to actively contribute to the design, recycling and reuse of materials to improve short- and long-term sustainability. The project takes shape in a series of co-creative workshops, true living laboratories where discarded materials find new life. The public is invited to rethink them. Together with the artist and the researchers, they breathe new life into them. To value this experience, a selection of artworks created during the living laboratories are included in the institutional contemporary art exhibitions developed by Olga Kisseleva.
RE-CREATION will be presented in the form of four museum exhibitions: one major event per country participating in the project.
