Aiming to understand what is needed to foster, two different cases studies i) the reuse of urban construction wastes as “second hand” materials and ii) to expand the use of "more sustainable" construction materials a workshop with municipalities, industry and academia was organized by CirCoCreation project in KU Leuven last 2 April.

During the workshop an active brainstorming focus to identify key users, enablers and providers together with the main tensions in the ecosystems were discussed. This understanding will give insights into the effective design of the living labs in Leuven and Sundsvall during the project implementation with the aim of investigating potential initiatives to move forward more sustainable urban circular construction initiatives.

The next CircoCreation workshop with stakeholders will be organized in Sundsvall in 2026.
