Associate Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) from April 1988 to the present. The field of teaching and research focuses on Health Psychology, mainly in the field of Psycho-Oncology and Palliative Care. Since 2000, he has directed the Master's Degree in Psycho-Oncology and Palliative Care, and since 2003 he has directed the journal of Psycho-Oncology. The lines of research deal with quality of life in cancer patients, effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on quality of life, screening of mental disorders in cancer patients, assessment and intervention in genetic cancer counselling and psychological treatment in people with cancer. Additionally, it develops lines of work in the evaluation and treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
