The Office for the Transfer of Research Results
(OTRI) was created in 1989 to liaison between the University and Companies.
The OTRI was created with the core objective of reinforcing their relationships and promoting the transfer of science and technology from the university to the business world. Our main objectives include:
- To build a database of research lines and the Research & Development at the Complutense University of Madrid.
- To identify the transferable results generated by researchers as well as the needs of businesses, with the aim of putting together research contracts to meet those needs.
- To advise researchers on the preparation of research contracts, proposals for national and European R&D projects, and the drafting and processing of patents, both nationally and internationally.
OTRI estructure
The OTRI is divided into seven sections,
coordinated by the Director and the Service Head.
Sections

Legal SupportLegal advice in the processes of transfer to society of the knowledge generated by the University.. |
Scientific Culture UnitIncrease interest and knowledge about science and research, promoting the transfer of information from UCM researchers to citizens. |
Technical Patent Office - Intellectual Property Help in the processing and technical support in the protection of research results of UCM staff. |
The OTRI is responsible for providing support and advice in the processing of national and international tenders. |
Valorization & CommercializationSupport University researchers interested in exploring the world of entrepreneurship based on their own research.. |
Collaborative Projects and Foundations Coordination between the public and private sectors, to encourage the participation of researchers in R&D&I grants called by different public and private organizations and foundations. |
