The Research Projects “Towards a Social History of Late Antique Pagan Holy Men” (EUIN2017-85631) and “The Neoplatonic School of Athens (4th-6th c.) in its historical and philosophical context” (HAR2017-83613-C2-1-P), funded by the Spanish Research Ministry (2017-2020), organize a preparatory workshop as a starting point of a joint research group on the social history, philosophical context and literary and archaological nuances of the Neoplatonic School of Athens. The participants will present their work lines towards a future collaborative research endeavour on this topics:
- Social History of the Neoplatonic School of Athens and Social Networks.
- Key philosophical topics of the Neoplatonic School of Athens and their relations with other schools.
- Literature and thought around the School of Athens and its context.
- Neoplatonism and Gender.
- Archaeology of the Neoplatonic Schools (Athens and other schools).
- Neoplatonic schools and urban contexts.
- Neoplatonism and Christian holiness.
The aim of this workshop is to foster future cooperation aiming at the preparation of a European call and to develop common research interests.
