Research interests:
Captivated by climate-human-environment links, as well as by the consequences of those links, I have devoted my career to apply the palaeoecological approach to detect patterns and processes of long-term environmental change. My research deals with the multi-proxy-based reconstruction of Quaternary climate, vegetation, environmental and land-use change, the detection of disturbance, and its impact on the functioning of a variety of terrestrial and marine systems. This knowledge is key for mitigating present-day and projected global change scenarios.
