The Open Access Policy approved by The UCM Council
The Council of the Complutense University approved an open access policy on May 27, 2014. This policy supports “green” open access as a mean to disseminate its research and scholarship as widely as possible. The data will be accessible via subject specific repositories or Complutense’s own repository.
As a consequence, the outputs of research carried out in our university will comply with European Commission recommendations, National and Regional Legislation and recommendations made by International and National Institutions involved in this issue over the last ten years.
The Complutense requires the scholars to deposit the research material in a maximum period of twelve months after its publication. Open access material can be in form of theses, learning material, and increasingly, other academic data such as Bacherlor’s and Master thesis, depending on quality requirements established by the university.
In addition, The Complutense University will comply with the requirements to respect copyrights and safeguard the intellectual property of research data deposited in the E-prints Complutense repository. The Complutense University is also committed to preserve, ensure and keep the access to this information, first, by guarantying the interrelation with scholar’s curricula and establishing the required process to make it possible and, second, by providing the researchers with counselling and technical support to facilitate the deposit and filing of the data, task performed by the UCM Library.
