European Student Card (ESC)
Convert your TUI-UCM card into your European Student Card (ESC) and take advantage of numerous benefits
If you are enrolled at Complutense, you can now convert your Smart University Card (TUI-UCM) into a European Student Card (ESC), granting you access to certain advantages when you are at other European universities and institutions that have also implemented this card (hundreds of institutions from 36 countries have registered so far).
Once fully implemented, the European Student Card will streamline processes for students traveling to other European higher education institutions, provided the destination institution is also registered for this service. Depending on the enabled features at each campus, the ESC may, in the future, provide access to various student services (such as libraries, sports facilities, dining services, cultural activities, student discounts, etc.) and serve as identification at the temporary destination university (for example, during an Erasmus exchange or a summer course in another European country).
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO ACTIVATE YOUR EUROPEAN STUDENT CARD
1. Access your virtual TUI card in the Complutense University APP installed on your mobile phone.
2. Find the round logo with the letters ESC and click on it.
3. A popup message shows that you can get your European student card. Click on the "More information" button.
4. To continue, accept the personal data processing clause.
5. Make sure that push notifications are enabled on your mobile phone and click the "Accept" button.
6. Enter the code you received and click "Validate".
7. Your card is now a European Student Card (ESC) and a new logo appears in the lower left corner.
8. You can see your ESC number or identifier in the upper right corner of the front of your virtual card.
9. If at any time you wish to unsubscribe from the ESC card, just click on the ESC icon again and confirm.
