The Centre for Elemental Microanalysis was founded in March 15, 1994 and is one of the Research Support Centres of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).

Its purpose is to provide support for both UCM research groups and other universities and private research centres in the field of quantitative analysis of the elements: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulfur.

The Centre is accredited by ENAC (National Accreditation Organizacion) with accreditation nº: 371/LE769 in June 2003 and belongs to the Network of Laboratories and Research Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid.
