Teresa Boemo

Assistant Professor

I work as a Professor at the University of Alcalá. I am a researcher in cognitive biases, emotion regulation, and their role as risk and protective factors in relapses of affective disorders and in the maintenance of well-being. I defended my doctoral thesis titled “Intraindividual dynamics of regulation of stress in individuals with emotional disorders: development of new evaluation and intervention tools” at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), with an emphasis on Experience Sampling Methods (ESM).

Currently, I work on several lines of research related to the role of emotion regulation in revictimization, ecological assessment in people with disabilities, and the design of interventions to promote psychological well-being, based on positive psychology and third-wave therapies.

I completed predoctoral and postdoctoral research stays at the Center for Contextual Psychiatry (KU Leuven).
Education: Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in General Health Psychology (UCM).
