About us
E-motion lab is a part of the Psychopathology and Positive Mental Health Research Group at Complutense University of Madrid, and it is funded by the Program of Attraction of Scientific Talent (Community of Madrid) . Our lab works on the implementing new technological developments to evaluate psychopathological processes such as cognitive biases and emotion regulation impairments that are on the basis of the onset and maintenance of emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety. Our main goal is developing a novel process-based framework with the potential to provide a much more dynamic and fine-grained understanding on how cognitive and emotion regulation mechanisms contribute to emotional dysfunctions. By this mean, we ultimately aim to develop new diagnostic tools based on individuals’ psychological functioning during daily life, guiding new online personalized interventions to promote stress resilience and well-being.
To this end, we integrate a multitude of measures that goes from fine-grained lab techniques such as cognitive tasks, psychophysiological measures of stress reactivity and regulation, or eye tracking, to the use of new experience sampling methods and personalized online daily surveys integrated into new mobile applications for remote evaluation and intervention of cognitive-affective functions in daily life.
