Common Difficulties in Learning Spanish

Thought, language, emotions, and learning are deeply interconnected. These four components constantly interact, and changes in one affect the others. Emotions, in particular, play a key role in regulating the human mind and behavior. As such, learning a second language involves not only study and dedication, but also a well-integrated balance between these psychological factors.

For over 95 years, the CCEE has supported students from around the world in learning Spanish as a second language. Our extensive experience shows that successful language acquisition goes beyond understanding grammar, functions, and vocabulary. It requires addressing a broader set of variables—many of which are often overlooked. To support our students more fully, we offer a unique and free-of-charge psychopedagogical service, unmatched in the field of Spanish language instruction.

Beyond Grammar: Comprehensive Support for Learning

The CCEE provides professional guidance not only on general academic difficulties—such as anxiety, time management, or study techniques—but also on challenges specific to learning Spanish as a second language. We offer personalized support to help students address issues such as:

In General Understanding:

  • What it truly means to learn a second  language
  • How to approach the process efficiently and make the best use of your resource - time, effort, and money.

Common Student Concerns:

  • “I am able to advance in grammar, but I feel stuck at my current level of speaking or listening skills.”
  • “I write well, but I can’t understand spoken Spanish.”
  • “I express myself well, but grammar is very difficult for me.”

These and similar challenges are addressed through personalized sessions outside the classroom in a supportive and confidential setting.

Our team includes qualified psychologists and specialists in teaching Spanish as a second language, which allows us to offer highly effective, student-centered guidance. Our short, targeted sessions are designed to:
