CertACLES
Description
CertAcles is a recognised examination to certify the level of Spanish language. The certificates issued with this accreditation are valid in the Spanish universities that are members of ACLES. They are endorsed by CercleS (European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education) and by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE). This certificate is recognised by: Community of Madrid, Community of Castilla la Mancha, Community of Castilla-León, Andalusia, Generalitat de Catalunya, Ministry of Defence, among others. The Centro Complutense para la Enseñanza del español examines level B2 (CEFR) which evaluates four skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and oral expression and interaction. Level B2 assumes sufficient knowledge of the language to maintain a fluent conversation with native speakers, to argue clearly and coherently, to write clear and correct texts on general topics and finally to understand the ideas of complex texts.

The Centro Complutense para la Enseñanza del Español offers a variety of Spanish courses throughout the year with which you can prepare for Spanish language certification.

Test
The structure of the tests:
Reading comprehension
- Reading three documents of different types (descriptive, narrative, informative, journalistic, informative, journalistic).
- The candidate will complete 3 tasks with a number of items between 20 and 25.
- Duration: 70 minutes.
- The tasks may be:
- Answering multiple-choice questions.
- Matching or relating sentences or questions to different parts of the statement.
- Reintegrate extracts from a text in the appropriate place.
- The value of the reading comprehension test represents 25% of the total mark.
Listening comprehension
- Listening to 4 audios of different types (conversation, conversation in formal, informal or academic register, interview).
- Each audio is listened to twice.
- The candidate will perform 3 or 4 tasks with a number of items between 20 and 25.
- Duration: 40 minutes.
- The tasks may be:
- Selecting from a series of proposed statements those which summarise the content of the listening (e.g. select 6 out of 10 proposed statements and do not select the other 4).
- Multiple choice.
- Matching questions with explanations given in the listening comprehension test.
- The value of the listening comprehension test represents 25% of the total mark.
Written expression
- The candidate will have to carry out two tasks, of different types.
- Write a formal or informal letter or e-mail, in which he/she must introduce him/herself, request or give information, make a complaint, claim or request, make a suggestion or give instructions, say goodbye.
- Write a narrative, descriptive, argumentative or opinion text.
- Each of the tasks will have a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 225 words.
- Total number of words between the two texts will be between 300 and 450 words.
- Duration: 70 minutes.
- The value of the written expression test represents 25% of the total mark.
Oral expression
- The candidate will have to perform three tasks, which will be recorded with his/her consent.
- In pairs task: Monologue + dialogue + interview. Each candidate will be assigned a set of ideas, for or against the situation in question, which they will have to defend for about 2 minutes in a monologue, even if they do not correspond to the candidates' actual opinions. The two candidates will then talk to each other in a debate where they will continue to defend the options they have been assigned. Finally, the interviewer will ask them about their real opinions and experiences.
- In pairs: The same photograph will be presented to the two candidates, together with instructions and questions. Two characters are shown in the photograph. Each candidate, one after the other, has to describe their character and interpret what is happening in the picture. The interviewer may ask each candidate questions about vocabulary, situation, etc. Afterwards, the candidate has to play the role of the character assigned to him/her and establish a conversation with the other candidate.
- Each candidate will receive a card with the situation and arguments that he/she can use to present his/her opinion for or against. The candidate must demonstrate how they interact with their partner: they argue, exchange ideas, express agreement or disagreement... Finally, they have to make a decision and reach an agreement.
- Duration 10-12 minutes.
- The value of the expression test.

Course Certificate
The results will be communicated directly to each student, at the email address provided at the time of enrolment.
The certificate will be issued once level B2 has been reached. The certificate will state the level obtained in Spanish (B2). E-Certificates will send by email.
