Abilities
General Abilities
Students will improve their knowledge in molecular processes occurring in living organisms as well as in molecular biomedicine. The educational requirements of the program are:
1. To provide skills, both manual and conceptual, for carrying out biomolecular research in a laboratory.
2. To promote the use of scientific literature as an essential tool for progress in research.
3. To provide a strong and solid foundation and practical skills in the areas of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
4. To develop skills for the resolution of research problems, at both the theoretical and practical levels.
5. To develop an adequate understanding of the different biological molecular structures, and the connection between structural alterations and diseases.
6. To develop the ability to communicate scientific research to both scientific and popular audiences.
7. To promote maximum respect for the environment and sustainable development, while maintaining firm ethical commitments, both professional and social.
Academic and research orientation of the Master
The Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedicine has an academic and research orientation. The studies are directed to students whose future work focuses on 1) research in the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine; 2) higher education; and 3) Medical Biotechnology (identification and validation of diagnostic targets, drugs, and vaccines).
The Master will allow graduates to access a subsequent doctorate and develop their future research activity in public or private centers, as well as in industry. In addition, the Master will provide advanced academic training applicable to university teaching, scientific dissemination and management within the area of knowledge of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine.
