New implants designed for treatment of bone infection and tumors

Researchers at Universidad Complutense, Universitat Politècnica de València and Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Bioingeniería, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina (CIBER-BBN) have designed a new hybrid material suitable for producing implants aimed at solving bone infections and tumors. Its main novel feature is the inclusión of molecular gates allowing the controlled release of antibiotics and antitumoral drugs.
