Summary of professional career

-        June 1995. Graduated in Biology in the Biology School of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM).

-        January 2003. PhD studies in the Molecular Biology Unit, ‘Hospital de la Princesa, Madrid, Spain’ (MBU). Identification and molecular characterization of new genes coding for lectin-like receptors.

-        From January 2003 to May 2004. Postdoctoral researcher in the MBU where he started the research about the organization of the cytotoxic NK cell immune synapse (cNK-IS).

-        From June 2004 to December 2006. Research associate at the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge (UK) where he continued the research devised in Madrid about the cNK-IS.

-        From January 2007 to March 2011. Research associate position at the Department of Systemic Cell Biology of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund (Germany). In this period, his research was focus on the characterization of tyrosine phosphorylation networks by using functional genomics and micro-spectroscopy techniques.

-        From March 2011 to December 2011. Scientist staff at the National Center of Biotechnology (CSIC) where he study the intracellular traffic of the T cell Immunoglobulin and mucin-1 (Tim-1) during the T cell activation.

-        From January 2012 until date. ‘Ramón y Cajal’ tenure track position at the Department of Microbiology I (Immunology area) of the Faculty of Medicine in the UCM. Here he has established a research group for studying the molecular dynamics underlying lymphocyte decisions.
