Specific requirements for accessing this degree
- Recommended student profile: This course is recommended to Graduates in Art History, History, Archaeology, Architecture, Fine Arts, Music Sciences; however, because of the interdisciplinarity of these studies and the likely application of students from other EU and Latin American countries, alternative access routes may be considered. All candidates must have a basic knowledge of Art History to be able to adequately follow the teachings. No specific test will be carried out, although prior training and its suitability to the training objectives of the master will be taken into account during the selection process. Students with academic curricula containing credits in Art History, History of Architecture, History, Law, Sociology, studies and official master's degrees previously carried out in the field of museology, historical and artistic heritage, cultural management, restoration and design and curating of museums and temporary exhibitions will be preferentially evaluated for admission. Languages will also be valued.
Master's Degree Admission Requirements
- Students must hold one of the following:
- An Official Spanish University Degree.
- A degree granted by a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) institution that provides access to master-level studies in the country of issue.
- A Degree from educational systems outside of the EHEA which qualifies the student to access master's level studies in the country of issue, accredited (see example of accreditation here) or declared equivalent (see example of equivalence here) as a bachelor-level degree by the Ministry of Education and Professional Training. Students without the aforementioned accreditation or equivalence will need to obtain authorisation or permission to access the course from this University.
- Alternatively, at the time of pre-registration, be enrolled in studies leading to any of the previous qualifications and in a position to prove it will be obtained before the 18th of December 2020.

Following the publication of successful candidates, appeals must be made online through the Master’s pre-registration application.
Off-line procedures, such as the delivery of documentation for the processing of "master's studies access permits”, can be carried out via registered post (certified copies) at any time, in-person (original and copy) from the 1st of September at the UCM Validation Bureau, or by any of the forms provided for by Law 39/2015, of the 1st of October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Process, Deadlines and Requirements
- In addition, students from foreign educational systems whose first language is not Spanish must accredit Spanish level B2 (or higher) without prejudice to any specific requirements outlined in the teaching guides of certain degrees, which will have priority over this general requirement.
