1) A Message from the IMI Director
Dear Colleagues,
Eva Garijo Alcalde
Ángel Manuel Ramos del Olmo
2 October 2024. Four IMI members and four members of its Scientific Committee are among the most influential in the world, according to the latest edition of the Ranking of the World Scientists: World’s Top 2% Scientist prepared by Stanford University and ELSEVIER. The lists present two different classifications: one that reflects the impact throughout the entire research career until 2023, and another that focuses on the impact of the year 2023. The selected researchers are within the top 2% of the Scopus database, making this ranking one of the most inclusive globally. The first list, with data corresponding to the complete career of each selected researcher, contains 217,097 scientists. The second list has been elaborated using data of the year 2023 alone and includes 223,152 researchers. The four IMI members mentioned here are Juan Luis Vázquez Suárez, Julián López-Gómez, Jesús Ildefonso Díaz Díaz and Francisco Javier Montero de Juan. Also appearing in the same lists are IMI Scientific Committee members Paul Rabinowitz, Simon Donaldson, Herbert Amann and Dikran Dikranjan.
