Participant Institutions
The GuMNet (Guadarrama Monitoring Network) was born within the Campus of International Excellence Moncloa (CEI) infrastructure as a collaboration among different institutions: the Complutense and Polythecnic Universities of Madrid, CIEMAT (Centre for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research), AEMET (State Meteorological Agency), National Park of the Sierra de Guadarrama (PNSG), National Heritage (PN) and the Institute of Geosciences (IGEO-CSIC).
The UCM, UPM, CIEMAT and CSIC are institutions with extensive experience in research. Within the GuMNet initiative, these four institutions involve scientists from several research groups that assess the deployment of instrumentation, generating technical reports and participating in field work activities. This multidisciplinary dynamics are coordinated by various specific working groups. The PNSG and PN collaborate faciliting access to areas and spaces where installing GuMNet automatic station is optimal. AEMET has a wide experience in the management and maintenance of meteorological networks and collaborates with the GuMNet initiative in the calibration of instrumentation.
The GuMNet initiative is open to new participants and collaborations with national and international institutions. Observational data network shall be public. Its vision is to expand the network to accommodate new research lines and incorporate new instrumentation of future participants. For more information
