The EG004-Cotos automatic weather station is located at the south face of Peñalara Massif at 1.873 m.a.s.l. in the beginin of a pine forest. It also represents an historic station of Peñalara Natural Park, nowadays Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. Thanks to the proximity of the interpretation center of the Park, this station has manual measurments of temperatura and precipitation and a long historical time series of temperature, wind and precipitation.
