Fernando Martínez Pedrero studied physics at the University of Granada (Spain), where he received a PhD in Natural Science in 2008. Since then, he has worked in 2 different universities (Complutense University of Madrid and University of Barcelona) and one renowned foreign Engineering Center of research (ESPCI, Paris), in collaboration with Michelin. His main research interests focus on the design of new strategies of transport and manipulation at low Reynolds number, and the study of static and dynamic self-assembly in 2D. He is author of 30 peer-reviewed articles, the 89% belonging to first Quartile Journals in their category, including Advanced Functional Materials (x1), Science Advances (x1), Small (x1), ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces (x1), Physical Review Letters(x1), Advances in Colloids and Interface Science (x2), or Journal of Colloids and Interface Science (x4), 4 granted patents and one book chapter. He has had a leading role in the developed research, being first, last or corresponding author in 26 of the 30 articles and also in the book chapter. Currently, he is enjoying a Ramón y Cajal contract, by which he is studying field induced processes emerging in magnetic colloids adsorbed at fluid interfaces.
