INTRODUCTION & OBJECTIVES
You may already completed your bachelor's and master's degrees, but if you think your future lies in the academic world in the area of Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial or Human Resources, the Complutense University of Madrid offers you a unique opportunity to obtain your PhD. in Management.
To apply to our PhD Program in Business Administration, you should submit your own research proposal. The Complutense University prioritizes research proposals that are aligned with the research activity of the faculty members of our Program (see Faculty and Research Section). For this reason, it is highly recommended to contact one of our Faculty Members to match with their research priorities and interests. The Ph.D. normally lasts 3 to 5 years, during which time you carry out your research under the supervision of a faculty member of the Program. At the end of this period you should have completed a doctoral thesis and have published part of the results of the thesis in an academic journal of international prestige.
This Program started in 2013 and is assigned to the Faculty of Economics and Business Science, Complutense University of Madrid. The ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) code associated with the PhD Program is Business Administration (Administración y Gestión de Empresas, in Spanish)(041). The branch of knowledge to which the program is attached is Social Sciences.
It is important to note that the program is face-to-face: it cannot be done remotely.
Likewise, the program is taught in Spanish, although it is necessary to be fluent in English to be able to understand the articles. Therefore, a command of the Spanish language is required, and a command of the English language will be necessary to be able to carry out bibliographic searches. Theses may be written in a language other than Spanish with the prior authorization of the Academic Committee of the Program.
Through the PhD Program in Business Administration, the student will develop the following personal competencies:

ACADEMIC COMMITTEE
The Academic Committee is responsible for the definition, updating, quality and coordination of the PhD Program in Business Administration at the Complutense University of Madrid. It is also responsible for the admission procedure and the progress of research, training and authorization of the presentation of theses of each doctoral student in the Program. The Academic Committee will assign each doctoral student a tutor, at the time of admission, and a thesis supervisor, within a maximum period of three months from enrollment.
