Patricia Hernández Lamas, PhD Architect (ETSAM-UPM, 2003) and Master in Gardening and Landscape -UPM, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering: Hydraulics, Energy and Environment of the ETSI Roads, Canals and Ports-UPM in the Teaching Unit of Art and Aesthetics of Engineering. She has taught at ETS of Architecture-UPM and EPS at Universidad San Pablo-CEU. She has been a guest professor and has made research stays at Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University-New York; Faculty of Architecture Design -Planning, University of Sydney; John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design, University of Toronto and ETSI Caminos of the University of Castilla La Mancha. Extraordinary prize of the UPM for her doctoral thesis the Modern Garden in Spain (1926-1980) in the Department of Architectural Composition-ETSAM-UPM.

With 15 years of research activity, she is member of LoCUS-UPM research group that deepens and innovates in landscape and city studies through a multidisciplinary approach. Member and technical advisor of ICOMOS Spain. She has been responsible for the DOCOMOMO Iberian Foundation for the Inventory of Spanish architecture of the 20th century realisation and documentary editor architect for Official College of Architects of Madrid. Since 2010 she has been the director of UPM Miguel Aguiló Foundation for landscape and built heritage investigation.

She has participated in 15 research projects, 4 exhibitions and 5 applications linked to maintenance and increase of Cultural Heritage, one of them awarded the 2015 Hispania Nostra Award, being the project's director. She is the author of more than 40 scientific publications in magazines, books, and conference communications on heritage, landscape and construction history.
