LUIS BENÍTEZ DE LUGO ENRICH is an archaeologist, PhD in Prehistory and professor at the Complutense University of Madrid.
He has worked as an archaeological consultant and cultural heritage manager for 27 years. He is a specialist in the Bronze Age and Iron Age.
He has more than 155 publications indexed in repertoires of scientific bibliography. The citations to his works in the last five years are 850; his h-index is 21.
He is a member of ICOMOS, speaker and lecturer. He has organized numerous summer courses, congresses and university seminars.
One of his lines of research is the Culture of the Motillas. In this field of work he has lead the management of Archeological Heritage from several sites like the motilla de El Retamar and Castillejo del Bonete, a sacred place of this culture. He is also Scientific Director of the works in the motilla de El Acequión.
He currently lives with his family in the countryside, in an old 19th century restored house (quintería), managing an organic olive grove and a small forest of pines and oaks.
