Julia López Narváez is an assistant at the Department of English Studies: Linguistics and Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid. Julia holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies (Autónoma University of Madrid). While at university, she spent a year at Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh) as an Erasmus student. She also holds a Master’s degree in Literary Translation at Complutense University of Madrid. She is pursuing a PhD in English Linguistics (UCM) since 2018. Her research focuses on the perception and construction of the fallen woman stereotype from a cognitive linguistic perspective. Her main areas of research include translation, cognitive linguistics, and sociolinguistics, with special attention to identity and stereotype―both social and literary―construction.

 

Julia López Narváez es ayudante en el Departamento de Estudios Ingleses: Lingüística y Literatura de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Es graduada en Traducción e Interpretación por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Durante su etapa en la UAM, fue estudiante Erasmus en Heriot Watt University (Edimburgo). Asimismo, Julia tiene un máster en Traducción Literaria por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Desde 2018 es doctoranda en el programa de Lingüística Inglesa de la UCM. Su investigación actual se centra en la percepción y construcción del estereotipo victoriano de fallen woman desde una perspectiva lingüístico-cognitiva. Sus áreas de interés incluyen traducción, lingüística cognitiva y sociolingüística, con especial atención en la construcción de identidad y de estereotipos tanto sociales como literarios.
