Before retiring in 2017, I was Reader in Comparative and European Literature (2013-2017) and Co-Director of the Centre for Transnational and Transcultural Research (2010-2017) at the University of Wolverhampton, UK. From 2000 I sat on the Executive Committee of the British Comparative Literature Association, acting as co-editor of the Association’s journal Comparative Critical Studies from 2012 until my retirement. From 2009 I have held (and in some cases still hold) positions on the editorial or advisory committees of a number of academic journals in Bulgaria, France, Poland and Spain, including the Revue de literature comparée. In 2009 I had the pleasure and privilege of being awarded a visiting fellowship at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid’s English Literature Department. Since my retirement I have occupied honorary positions at the University of Wolverhampton (Honorary Research Fellow) and in the Departamento de Estudios Ingleses at the Universidad Complutense (professor honorífico). My research specialisms are within the field of comparative literature and in the course of my career I have published on Hispanic, French, Anglophone and Bulgarian literature.
Antes de jubilarme en 2017, fui desde 2013 Reader en literatura comparada y europea y co-director del Centro para La Investigación Transnacional y Transcultural de la Universidad de Wolverhampton, Reino Unido. De 2000 a 2017 fui miembro de la junta directiva de la British Comparative Literatura Association, de cuya revista Comparative Critical Studies fui co-editor de 2012 a 2017. Desde 2009 he sido o sigo siendo miembro de varios juntas o consejos editoriales de revistas científicas en Bulgaria, Francia Polonia y España, entre ellas la Revue de littérature comparée.. En 2009 (enero-abril) tuve el placer y el privilegio de ser nombrado profesor visitante en el Departamento de Literatura Inglesa en la Universidad Complutense. Desde que me jubilé sigo vinculado al mundo de la investigación y la docencia mediante dos puestos honoríficos: investigador honorífico (Universidad de Wolverhampton) y profesor honorífico (Universidad complutense). Mi labor investigativa se desarrolla dentro del marco de la literatura comparada y a lo largo de mi carrera he publicado sobre las literaturas hispánicas, francesa, búlgara y las de habla inglesa.
