Seminars

At CADEDIF, we promote the AMMA Department Seminar by inviting our visitors to give a talk. In the past, the group has also organiced an informal seminar during the course.

Doctoral Courses

The group collaborates with the Doctoral Program in Mathematical Research at UCM by offering short (10-hour) courses on our research topics. Although these courses are primarily designed for young researchers (pre-doctoral and advanced master's students), they are also valuable for experienced academics.

  • Computer-Assisted Proofs in Nonlinear Analysis (Olivier Hénot, École Polytechnique, Paris), link to the course details
    Date: 21-23 May 2025
    Time: 10:00-12:00
Place:  Facultad de Ciencias Matemáticas UCM, Seminario 209 (aula Alberto Dou)
Abstract: Computer-assisted proofs have emerged as a compelling approach, blending traditional analysis and computational methods. In recent years, such techniques have seen increasing success.
  • Ecuaciones integro-diferenciales (J.C. Felipe Navarro, UCM), link to the course page
    Date: 24-30 April 2025
    Time: 15:00-17:00
Place:  Facultad de Ciencias Matemáticas UCM, Aula 117
Abstract: The aim of the course is to introduce nonlocal integro-differential equations through diffusion models with long-range interactions, presenting the main results on existence, uniqueness, and regularity of solutions.
  • Introducción a la teoría de puntos críticos y sus aplicaciones (A. Castro, Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, California, Estados Unidos)
    Date: 29 May - 2 June 2017
Soluciones singulares.

Workshops, conferences and congresses

CADEDIF members organize differnet events to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange within the research community. These events are crucial for the group as they provide opportunities to share the latest advancements in the field, encourage interdisciplinary discussions, and strengthen connections with researchers from both national and international institutions.

  • One Day CADEDIF Workshop (February 22, 2024), link to the workshop page
One day of seminars where our visitors and some local researchers from UCM and other universities in the area of Madrid will share their research, ideas and projects in the broad area of Differential Equations and Dynamics.
    Organized by: J.M. Arrieta
  • Homogenization, Spectral problems and other topics in PDE's (May 6-7, 2019, ICMAT, Madrid), link to the workshop page
In this two day workshop we have gathered some relevant researchers in the broad area of PDEs with emphasis in Homogenization and Spectral problems, together with some younger and very active researchers. The aim is to interact and interchange ideas about the research we are doing in the field as well as to provide young researchers the opportunity to present their work.
    Organized by: J.M. Arrieta, R. Oribe (UAM), & M.E. Pérez (U. Cantabria)
  • Homogenization, spectral problems and other topics in PDEs, (February 2, 2016, Departamento de Matemática Aplicada, UCM), link to the workshop programme
    Organized by: J.M. Arrieta & M. Villanueva-Pesqueira

Furthermore, the gruoup actively participates in other activities and research gatherings, where we present our results. These opportunities allow us to showcase our work, receive valuable feedback, and stay updated on the latest developments in the field, further contributing to the group's academic growth and visibility.

Science Communication

  • CADEDIF member R. Rodríguez del Río participated in the RTVE2 show Curioseando: Números Célebres in February 2025.

  • Summer Course: De las matemáticas a la sociedad: el camino de la divulgación (San Lorenzo de El Escorial, July 3-7, 2017), link to the course page
This course is addressed to math and science students, secondary school teachers, journalists and the general public interested in popularisation of science and math. We will have a distinguished panel of science communicators and the course aims at reflecting on problems of modern math and the everlasting problem on how to communicate science to society.
Organized by: Fundación General de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid
Sponsored by: ICMAT, Proyecto del Plan Nacional de Matemáticas MTM2016-75465, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, RSME y Banco de Santander
Directed by: J.M. Arrieta & R. Rodríguez del Río
    Coordinated by:  V. García Baonza
