Presentation

Revista Digital de Iconografía Medieval (RDIM) is a journal associated to the Research Group “The medieval image: space, form and meaning” (No. 941299) as well as to the Teaching Innovation Project “Digital Database of Medieval Iconography” of the Complutense University of Madrid. It was founded in 2009. It was biannual until 2018, so that new issues were published every June and December. Since 2019 it was annual, thus every new issue is published in December. On May 2022 it closes.

RDIM is a journal addressed to scholars, teachers and university students interested in visual culture. It is consecrated to the study of medieval image with a main focus on the understanding of its thematic repertoire (Bible and Apocrypha, bestiary, hagiography, secular and scientific subjects, Islamic iconography, etc.), in order to highlight the richness and variety of Medieval Art. All articles published in RDIM have both a research and teaching aim, since those two aspects are complementary in the field of scientific production.

RDIM is published on print version and electronic form. The legal identification of the print version is ISSN 2254-7312 and the legal deposit, M-25126-2012. The electronic edition, whose contents are identical to the printed version, is published under e-ISSN 2254-853X and benefits from a policy of Open Access based on the declarations of Budapest (2002), Berlin (2003) and Bethesda (2003), according to which free and unrestricted access to the articles is provided. They can be read, downloaded, printed, copied and freely distributed as long as a citation of acknowledgement of the original source is provided. Our journal is under Creative Commons license "Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)".  (View License Deed and Legal Code)
