Procedure for processing the defence of a doctoral thesis at the UCM
Telematic deposit of thesis
The on-site procedure for the deposit of doctoral thesis is out of service. The thesis can only be deposited online. To start the procedure you should contact the secretary's office of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy: doctoradofarm@ucm.es
It is recommended not to start proceedings outside the school term.

Admission to official university doctoral studies - Academic year 2024-2025

In order to formalise admission it is necessary to upload the following documents to the online application (Click here to see the necessary documents), fill in the Programme registration form (download form) and upload it to the UCM PhD pre-enrolment application together with the rest of the documents.
Extraordinary early application
Application: from 18 March to 10 May 2024.
Admission and waiting lists: 28 May 2024.
**Claims: 29, 30 and 31 May 2024.
Registration: from 24 to 28 June 2024 via Internet
*In this period may participate ONLY the candidates who are participating in a process to access predoctoral contracts, scholarships or equivalent training grants financed through competitive calls from public or private organizations, or who are participating in a selection process for an assistant position at UCM, and who need to prove admission to a PhD program as a prerequisite for the acceptance of the contract or scholarship, in the event that they are beneficiaries.
Ordinary application
Application: from 17 June to 17 September 2024.
Admission and waiting lists: 14 october 2024.
** Claims: 15, 16 and 17 october 2024.
Registration: from 15 to 31 October 2024 via Internet
** Applicants who have not been admitted may file a complaint within three working days following the admission resolution, in accordance with the admission deadlines established in the official call for admission, through the online platform where the application for admission was made, accessing with the same username and password used for the application. The Academic committee of the PhD program will decide within five working days from the end of the claim period. The corresponding resolution may be consulted in the online platform by accessing with the same username and password.
If the publication of the admission result is later than the official date foreseen for each period, the claim may be presented within three working days following its publication.
Against the resolution adopted, an appeal may be filed before the Rector, whose decision will exhaust the administrative channels.
Students who are admitted and do not register for the academic year 2024-25 will lose their place in the Programme.
Change of Programme
Doctoral students who have been enrolled in doctoral programmes at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and wish to join any of the programmes for the 2024-2025 academic year must apply for admission under the terms established in this call for applications. For all purposes, they will be considered as new students.

In order to comply with the provisions of articles 11.6 and 11.7 of RD 99/2011, the following timetable for the evaluation of students enrolled in doctoral programmes in the academic year 2022-23 is established
(Order 1) Extraordinary call of January
(Only for students with a negative evaluation in the ordinary evaluation of the 2021-2022 academic year or in the last academic year in which they were actively enrolled)
- Deadline for updating the activities document and the research plan in the RAPI2 application by the PhD student: 13 January.
- Deadline for submission of reports from tutors and directors: 23 January

- Evaluation period of the academic commissions: until February 3
- Deadline for submission of minutes to the secretariats: 13 February
A positive evaluation will be a prerequisite for continuation in the programme.
(Order 2) Ordinary call in June
- Deadline for updating in the RAPI2 application the document of activities and the research plan by the PhD student: 16 June
- Deadline for submission of reports from tutors and directors: 3 July
