3rd ESACH Meeting 2021 Madrid
7th, 8th & 9th June 2021
Presentation
The 3rd ESACH Meeting 2021 Madrid, “Our common past, our future”, was organised by ESACH (European Students' Association for Cultural Heritage), Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and MA Cultural Heritage in the 21st Century: Management and Research (ESACH Madrid). Supported by the UPM "Programa I+D".
The aim was to innovate following the previous work done in Girona (2018) and Genoa (2019). This meeting is open to ESACH's members and non-members. We want this to be a place for the exchange of knowledges and ideas about our European heritage, but also we hope this event serve for thinking about sustainable ways to manage it, because we are the future of Europe and that should be our commitment.
This year we have had the collaboration of important associations such as ICOMOS Spain, Hispania Nostra, Europa Nostra, Europeana, Fundación Santa María La Real y Madrid Ciudadanía y Patrimonio.
We encourage you to visit the websites of ESACH Europe and ESACH Madrid to find out all the interesting activities that are being carried out.
Meeting summary
Our Máster PC21 is delighted to have been able to organise and host the third meeting of the ESACH network. This type of meeting is a very important training for our students and an opportunity to exchange perspectives with students and young professionals from countries all over Europe and the world. We would like to thank all our partners, especially Europa Nostra and ICOMOS Spain, and each and every one of the speakers. Here is a summary of the three-day meeting.
Institutional welcome with the interventions of MEP Marcos Ros Sempere, Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović (Europa Nostra Secretary-general), Isabel María García (Vice Rector for Culture, Sports and University Extension), Miguel Luque Talaván (Faculty of Geografy & History Dean), Manuel Blanco Lage (School of Architecture Director) and Nagore Sánchez García (ESACH Madrid Coordinator and representative from ESACH Europe).
Conference about the New European Bauhaus, a necessary project for the future of Europe. We were pleased of having back our first promotion alumni Héctor Aliaga, now as part of European Heritage Ambassadors and member of Fundación Santa Maria La Real. As part of the team promoting the project from the European Parliament, MEP Marcos Ros intervened.
