Urban environments and biodiversity
We study the effect of urbanization on biodiversity. We used several approaches from long term population monitoring by means of ringing data or nest boxes to biochemichal and physiological individual analysis to disentringle long term effects on populations. We used House Sparrows (Passer domesticus) and White Storks (Ciconia ciconia) as a model species.
Spatial analysis and conservation
We study behavior and spatial use of different bird species with the use of new monitoring tools such satellite telemetry, geolocating devices and geographic information systems (GIS). Our final objetive is provide population managers with useful conservation tools. We use several species such as Bonelli's Eagle (Aquila fasciata) or Golden Plovers (Pluvialis apricaria) at different geographical locations (Spain or Sweeden).
