Beatriz Martínez Miranzo

Doctor in Biology

My scientific interest is the study and conservation of terrestrial vertebrates specifically birds. I am particularly interested in the study and monitoring of urban populations by ringing or nest boxes and the study and monitoring of populations of large raptors. Through new monitoring tools, such as satellite telemetry and modern geographic information systems, I intend to learn more about the behavior and the spatial use that endangered species make and apply it to improve the populations management. As part of my Doctoral Thesis, I will improve the knowledge about the spatial ecology of Bonelli"s Eagle (Aquila fasciata) in order to help the management and conservation of populations of this endangered species.
