Major research activities during the past 5 years:
1. Dating, petrogenesis and tectonics of the Lower Palaeozoic rocks of the Sierras Pampeanas, Argentina and relevance to the assembly of the proto-Andean margin of Gondwana (international research team from Argentina, Spain, U.K. and Australia).
2. Dating, petrogenesis and sediment provenance of the Pacific margin of Gondwana in Chile (collaboration with Prof. F. Hervé, Universidad de Chile).
3. Geochronology and evolution of the basement rocks of Patagonia (collaboration with several Argentine geologists).
4. Advisory/consultant role in the interpretation of isotope geochemistry for various groups and individual researchers, e.g., in Iran, Central Asia
