Micro(nano)plastics (MNPs) Removal from Compost and Water by Physical-Chemical and Electrochemical Technologies

Objectives: Development an advanced, environmentally-friendly and inexpensive processes for the extraction of MNPs from sludge-derived compost. Application of Electrochemical Advanced Oxidation Processes (EAOPs) to the treatment of wastewater containing MNPs.

Soil and Water Remediation by In Situ Chemical Oxidation and Reduction processes

Objectives: Use of chemical agents (oxidants, reductives and additives) in the remediation of water and soils contaminated with toxic organic compounds in unsaturated and saturated zones of contaminated soil. Selecting the optimal conditions for a better efficiency of the reactants and additives used.

Water Treatment by Advanced Oxidation Processes

Objectives: Treating water containing organic contaminants which are refractory to biological oxidation as well as emerging pollutants. Use of advanced oxidation treatments in removing pollutants in the industry. Regeneration of water containing priority and / or emerging pollutants by oxidation techniques.

Caprolactam manufacturing processes. Purification of cyclohexanone.

Objectives: To improve the quality of the caprolactam, monomer of nylon 6, acting between the steps subsequent to obtaining the mixture cyclohexanol / cyclohexanone and before the oxidation step. It also aims to improve energy efficiency and the use of raw materials.
