In vitro plant culture

Researchers: Isabel Ballesteros Redondo, Rosario Linacero de la Fuente.

In vitro culture is one of the most useful methodologies in Plant Biotechnology, both for its application to genotype cloning and for its use in most protocols for obtaining transgenic plants. The phenomenon of somaclonal variation can negatively affect the development of this methodology. To avoid this, it is necessary to determine the presence of unwanted plants among those propagated quickly and efficiently.
