Beatriz Beroiz Remírez

Associate Professor

My primary research line focuses on the Genetics of arthropods of agronomic and conservation interest.
I started my activity in the conservation of the native freshwater crayfish through population studies using molecular and morphometric markers.

I have participated in the development of molecular methods for the detection of insecticide resistance to prevent and minimize agricultural and economic losses caused by arthropod pests.

I have been an Expert in the Evaluation of Phytosanitary Products and a Scientific Advisor for the Registration of Phytosanitary Products at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

I have worked with the pharmaceutical industry identifying species of mites that produce allergens using molecular techniques and developing quality control systems in industrial crops.

I am currently implementing molecular biology techniques to study the role of wild pollinators in agriculture and the effects of insecticides on them.

I also participate in other projects related to food safety and the development of allergen detection methods.
