Jaime Curbera estudió en Madrid y Roma. Posteriormente estuvo dos años en Atenas con una beca post-doctoral. Desde 2000 trabaja en el Proyecto Inscriptiones Graecae en Berlín, donde es responsable de los futuros volúmenes de las dedicaciones áticas de época post-Euclídea y (en colaboración con David Jordan y Sergio Giarnnobile) de las tablillas de defixión áticas. Su interés principal es el vocabulario y la onomástica del griego.
