Patricia Román Porras es profesora asociada en el Departamento de Estudios Ingleses de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y profesora de inglés en la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (donde fue jefa de estudios en el curso 2020-21). Asimismo, cuenta con experiencia docente en el mismo ámbito en academias de idiomas y en educación secundaria, donde fue además coordinadora del proyecto bilingüe del centro, directora del Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras y directora del programa de Bachillerato Dual durante los cursos 2016/17 a 2020/21.

Patricia cuenta con el Máster en Enseñanza del Inglés como Lengua Extranjera (UCJC), el Máster en Estudios Literarios y Culturales Ingleses y su Proyección Social (UNED) y un Máster en Historia del Mediterráneo Antiguo (UAH, UAB y UOC). Además, ha participado en congresos de investigación como el de Translation and Power (University of Rzeszów, Polonia) y la Asociación Española de Lingüística Aplicada (Universidad de las Palmas de Gran Canaria). Sus principales líneas de investigación son las metodologías de la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera como la gamificación de la enseñanza y la educación bilingüe. En esta línea, Patricia participa en un proyecto de Aprendizaje y Servicio financiado por la UCM (Escuela para madres y padres sobre bilingüismo y aprendizaje del inglés).

Patricia Román Porras is a part-time lecturer in the Department of English Studies at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an English teacher at the Language Official School (where she was the head of studies in the academic year 2020-21). Moreover, she has been an English teacher in other language schools and in secondary education, where she was the bilingual project coordinator, the head of the Department of Foreign Languages and the Head of the Bachillerato Dual from the academic years 2016/17 to 2020/21.

Patricia holds a Master’s in teaching English as a Foreign Language (UCJC), a Master’s in English Literary and Cultural Studies and their Social Projection (UNED) and a Master’s in Ancient Mediterranean History (UAH, UAB and UOC). Furthermore, she has participated in research conferences such as Translation and Power (University of Rzeszów, Poland) and the Conference of the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics (AESLA, Universidad de las Palmas de Gran Canaria). Her main lines of research are the teaching methodologies of English as a Foreign Language and bilingual education. Patricia participated in a Service-Learning Project funded by UCM (School for mothers and fathers about bilingualism and English learning).
