Margit Gaffal estudió inglés, filosofía y psicología obteniendo su maestría (Magister) en la Universidad Paris Lodron de Salzburgo. Fue profesora en la Universidad de Cardiff (Reino Unido) y en la Universidad Johannes Kepler (Austria). Realizó un Diploma de Estudios Avanzados y obtiene el doctorado en derecho. Fue Profesora Asociada en la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, la Universidad Autónoma y en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Su principal interés se centra en la lingüística aplicada, y especialmente el estudio del lenguaje para fines específicos (LSP), el análisis de la comunicación profesional en el ámbito económico y en derecho. Realizó un análisis lingüístico del lenguaje utilizado en las regulaciones contractuales en el diploma de estudios avanzados (DEA). Otras áreas de interés son la comunicación intercultural en el ámbito empresarial y el desarrollo de métodos de enseñanza para facilitar la adquisición de la terminología específica (LSP). También investiga en los campos de la psicolingüística así como las cuestiones vinculadas a las nuevas formas de vida en el inglés contemporáneo.

Margit Gaffal studied English and Philosophy (Psychology) and obtained a master degree from the Paris Lodron University Salzburg. She was lecturer at Cardiff University (UK) and at Johannes Kepler University (Austria). She wrote the Diploma of Advanced Studies about legal English and holds a doctorate in law. She was Associate Professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Autonomous University and the University Carlos III in Madrid. Her main interest is in applied linguistics including language for specific purposes (LSP), especially the analysis of professional communication in business and law. The diploma of advanced studies (DEA) was dedicated to an analysis of the language used in contracts and treaties. Other areas of interest are intercultural business communication and the development of teaching methods that facilitate the acquisition of LSP-terminology. Of particular interest is psycholinguistics and how emerging forms of life transform into contemporary English language.
