María Goicoechea de Jorge
María Goicoechea de Jorge nació en Santander, España, el 20 de Octubre de 1971. Estudio Filología Inglesa en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Ha estudiado también en la Universidad de East Anglia (UEA), UK, y en la Universidad de Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, donde obtuvo el Máster en Comunicación Intercultural. Su tesis doctoral se titula El lector en el ciberespacio: Una etnografía literaria de la cibercultura (2004). En los últimos años sus intereses investigadores se centran en el estudio de la lectura literaria en el seno de la cibercultura.
Actualmente, es profesora en el Departamento de Filología Inglesa II en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) e investigadora principal del proyecto eLITE-CM en Edición Literaria Electrónica. La profesora Goicoechea es miembro de LEETHI (UCM), y de HERMENEIA (Universitat de Barcelona), dos grupos de investigación interdisciplinarios dedicados al estudio de la literatura en la era digital.

María Goicoechea de Jorge was born in Santander, Spain, the 20th of October, 1971. She studied English Philology at the University Complutense of Madrid. She has studied at the University of East Anglia (UEA), UK, and at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Intercultural Communication. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled The Reader in Cyberspace: A Literary Ethnography of Cyberculture (2004). Her research interests include literary theory, ethnography, and cyberculture.
Currently, she is a teacher of the English Department at the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) and Principal Investigator of the project eLITE-CM in Electronic Literary Edition. Prof. Goicoechea is a member of LEETHI Research Group (UCM), and of HERMENEIA (Universitat de Barcelona), two interdisciplinary research groups dedicated to the study of literature and computers.
