The CESIN chair arises from the symbiosis of the long research trajectory of the Research Group on Economics and Innovation Policy (GRINEI) of the UCM, and the extensive practical experience of the Forum for Innovative Enterprises (FEI).

GRINEI provides a long history of knowledge transfer activities with multiple companies and national and international public organizations, to this is added a network of excellence of national collaborations researchers of almost all the Autonomous Communities and more than fourteen countries, which ensures the ability to organize the best teams to carry out their tasks within an international reference framework.

For its part, the FEI provides its own experience as a think tank made up of top-level members in the international scene, in addition to the capacities and networks available through the activity of its partners from companies of recognized innovative prestige, scientists with a high commitment to science and innovation, and private and public entities engaged in different tasks in the process of developing innovation.

The FEI’s decision to create CESIN is another step in its trajectory of putting the university-business relationship at the heart of its concerns. This is also intended to ensure a more active and decisive presence of the EIF in the discussion of the proposals, so as to ensure that Spain makes a qualitative leap in promoting innovation as a primary instrument of competitiveness. The collaboration with the UCM shows a growing and renewed commitment of this university to the role that the creation and transfer of knowledge should play in contemporary society.

 With this, we also want to get a more active and decisive presence of the EIF in the debate of the proposals, to get Spain from a qualitative leap in the promotion of innovation as an instrument of primary competitiveness. The collaboration with the UCM, shows a growing and renewed commitment of this university with the role that the creation and transfer of knowledge must play in contemporary society.
