“Cartografía digital, conservación y difusión del patrimonio teatral del Madrid contemporáneo (CARTEMAD)” nace de la corriente de las digital humanities y pretende crear una plataforma donde se tengan en cuenta las principales aristas del hecho teatral del Madrid actual en sus aspectos más relevantes escénicos, artísticos, económicos y sociales. Para ello coordinamos un conjunto de grupos de investigación de primer nivel: el Instituto del Teatro de Madrid y el Seminario de Estudios Teatrales de la Universidad Complutense, el grupo ITERMAD de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, y el grupo Talía Teatro, Aprendizaje de Lenguas e Interpretación “Amateur” de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, cada uno con un número de responsabilidades propias y en común.

El proyecto tiene seis objetivos:

1. El primero “Teatrero.com: Base de datos digital e interactiva de la actividad teatral madrileña” está hermanado con un proyecto en red anterior titulado TEAMAD: Plataforma digital para la investigación y divulgación del teatro contemporáneo en Madrid, un exitoso proyecto de especial relevancia tecnológica y carácter interdisciplinar que involucró a centros de investigación de carácter teórico sobre el teatro, empresas teatrales y empresas dedicadas a la tecnología con una base de datos que presenta más de 400 fichas exclusivas de la actividad teatral en Madrid para las temporadas teatrales 2016/2017, 2017/2018 y 2018/2019. En el presente objetivo se pretenden ampliar el número de fichas para llegar a las 1000.
2. El segundo objetivo “Los números del teatro: Impacto económico y social del hecho teatral madrileño” presenta un análisis a partir de cruzar los datos del primer objetivo y del proyecto anterior con los que se pueden conseguir en el Ministerio de Economía y Empresa, el Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes, el Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades y la Sociedad General de Autores al respecto de la actividad teatral en España y en Madrid.
3. El tercer objetivo “Bibliografía razonada de la actividad editorial en torno al teatro” amplía el campo para incluir la frenética actividad de las editoriales teatrales en los últimos años donde un buen número de pequeñas editoriales se han especializado en este terreno. Se trata de un complemento a la Panorámica de la edición española de libros que anualmente elabora el Observatorio de la Lectura y el Libro de la Subdirección General del Libro, la Lectura y las Letras Españolas (MECD) y surge de la necesidad de comprender mejor la situación de la publicación de literatura dramática. Este objetivo, continúa el trabajo que en el seno del ITEM realizó en 2016 la Doctora María Bastianes: Bibliografía ordenada de la literatura dramática publicada en España en 2016. 4. El objetivo cuatro se centra en la actividad de los festivales teatrales: “Radiografía de la actividad festival en torno al teatro”. En este objetivo se pretende realizar un estudio e inventario de los festivales de teatro que se celebran en la CAM y en el resto de España, un análisis de la cartelera de los festivales españoles y estudio de los títulos que han llegado y han salido de la cartelera madrileña desde 2015 y un análisis de la cartelera madrileña que no ha participado en ningún festival en la CAM y es contratada en festivales españoles desde 2015.
5. El quinto objetivo es un mapa de la crítica teatral madrileña. Como hemos indicado anteriormente, la Comunidad de Madrid es, sin duda, el corazón de las artes escénicas en España. Dada esta realidad, el conjunto de críticos profesionales y semiprofesionales que reseñan la actividad teatral de la Comunidad es el más influyente del estado. En este objetivo se plantea reflejar e historiografiar el estado de la crítica actual teniendo en cuenta los críticos más conocidos de los medios tradicionales de comunicación (prensa, radio, televisión) y los del mundo 2.0.
6. El sexto y último objetivo compilará toda la información anterior en una originalísima “Cartografía digital, conservación y difusión del patrimonio teatral del Madrid contemporáneo”. En esta se plantea un mapa y análisis del hecho teatral en el Madrid de hoy en día en sus aspectos escénicos, artísticos, económicos y sociales más relevantes en un mapa interactivo a partir de plataformas GIS en la nube. Se trata, pues, de un proyecto de carácter interdisciplinario que combina la práctica tecnológica y técnica con conocimientos específicos teóricos de teoría del drama, creación del canon, interacción de la cultura y el ámbito económico y de esta con la sociedad en su conjunto. CARTEMAD será consultable en el momento en que haya adquirido un volumen de información suficientemente relevante para la comunidad científica y el público general.

“Digital Cartography, Preservation and Dissemination of the Theatrical Heritage im Contemporary Madrid” (CARTEMAD). Raised under the current trend technological trend of the digital humanities TEAMAD hopes to develop as a research Project with special technological significance as it combines the techniques of database composition and the analysis of the theatrical scene in its most significant staging, artistic, economic and social aspects. In order to attain this, the Project coordinates a cluster of worldclass research groups: the Madrid Theatre Research Institute, the Seminary for Theatrical Studies from the Universidad Complutense, ITERMAD from the Universidad Autónoma, and the group Talía: Theatre, Language Learning and “Amateur” Acting of the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, each with a number of individual and collective responsilities. The project has six objectives:

1. The first one is entitled “Teatrero.com: A Digital and Interactive Database of Theatrical Activity” which is intimately linked with an earlier project funded by the Autonomous Community of Madrid, titled “Digital platform digital for the research and broadcasting of contemporary theater in Madrid (TEAMAD)”. This was a sucessful project of special technological relevance and interdisciplinary character that involved research centers of theory on theater, theatrical troops and producers and technological business in a database that presents over 400 exclusive items of the theatrical activity in Madrid for the seasons of the years 2016/2017, 2017/2018 and 2018/2019. The current objective pretends to expand the number to 1000.
2. Objective 2 is entitled “The Figures of Theater: The Economical and Social Impact of the Theatrical Scene in Madrid” and intends to cross data from the first objective´s database and the previous project with those present in the Ministry of Economy and Business, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the General Society of Authors focusing on the theatrical activity in Spain and Madrid.
3. The third objective “Scientific Bibliography of the Editorial Activity With Regards to Theater” includes the frenetic activity of the publishers of drama, with special interest on the number of small publishers which specialize on theater. It is a complement to the Survey of Spanish Edition that annually elaborates the Observatory of Reading and the Book by the General Subdirectory of the Book by the Ministry of Culture.
4. Objective 4 is centered upon the activity of theater festivals and is called: “Mapping of the Festival Theater Activity”. This objective attempts to complete the study and inventory of theater festivals in the Peninsula and Madrid with regards to the theatrical scene since 2015.
5. The fifth objective is mapping of the Madrid theatrical scene. The Comunidad de Madrid is, without a doubt, the center of the performing arts in Spain. The cluster of professional and semiprofessional critics that review the stage is Spain´s most influential cluster. We intend to reflect and chronicle the state of theater criticism by analyzing the mass media critics (press, radio, television) and the 2.0 world and the blogosphere.
6. The sixth and last objective will collate and compile all previous information in a very original platform for the “Digital Mapping, Preservation and Dissemination of the theatrical heritage of contemporary Madrid”. In it, we map an analyze the Madrid´s theater today in its scenic, artistic, economic, and social aspects. We plan to use online GIS software as to map correctly all data. It is thus a interdisciplinary and technologically relevant project which combines specific theoretical knowledge on drama, canon formation, culture interaction with the economic field and society as a whole. CARTEMAD will be consultable as soon as it reaches a critical mass relevant for the scientific community and the general public.
